Sign up for a plot at Jefferson Green Park Community Garden!

The City of Lakewood and Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) will partner to create a new community garden at Jefferson Green Park, 3333 S. Field St., if enough interest exists in the community.

Construction of the new garden will begin in fall, 2018 and the new garden will be ready for planting by Mother's Day, 2019 provided an organizing committee has formed and residents have signed up to manage plots. The City of Lakewood will fund the initial costs for the garden's infrastructure.

Sign up now if you are interested in having a plot in the new garden. Most community gardens require an annual fee for participation and the cost depends on a number of factors. Fees typically range from $40-$60 per year per plot, plus $25 DUG membership. Scholarships are available based on need so that all who want to can participate.

In order to be successful, the garden will need a small organizing committee of volunteers to make decisions about design and garden facilities. Please indicate if you are interested in joining the organizing committee which will work with DUG directly to make sure the new garden is successful.

Join us for the initial public meeting and design workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 at Bear Creek K-8 School, 9601 W. Dartmouth Place.

Thank you!
