Taft Park, 2951 Simms Dr., was funded for improvements with construction beginning in the fall of 2021.
Last renovated in 1985, this beloved neighborhood park has provided much enjoyment to local families and visitors over the years. With input from the community, the City upgraded playground amenities and provided improved accessibility. The goal was to develop a plan to ensure that Taft Park remains a special gathering place in Ward 1.
The Taft Park playground neighborhood meeting originally scheduled for September 29 has been rescheduled beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13 at the park. We hope to see you there.
Construction is set to being on Monday, July 18!

Taft Park is currently funded for improvements beginning in the summer of 2021. As an interested neighbor and park visitor, you have the opportunity to provide your input by Friday, July 16 to help select play equipment for the new playground. The survey results will be used to tailor the playground design to the needs of the neighborhood.
Survey data will be shared along with design concepts at a public meeting to be held in August 2021.
Park improvements are scheduled to be installed in late 2021 or early spring of 2022, weather dependent.

Survey results will be shared along with a preliminary site plan for the park including playground and ADA improvements.
