Public Art Plan Project Update

Lakewood adopted its first Public Art Master Plan in 2013. Since fall of 2023, we have engaged with the community to update the plan and envision the future of the city’s public art program for the next 10 years. Over the last several months, we hosted community conversations and asked for input and feedback to help shape the future of public art in Lakewood.

For the new Connect. Discover. Create. Lakewood Public Art Plan, four CORE CONCEPTS and key strategies are being developed to help guide the future of the public art program. See those Core Concepts here.

Core Concept 1: Unify and Guide Public Art and Placemaking Initiatives,

Core Concept 2: Create Transformational Destinations,

Core Concept 3: Expand the Variety and Diversity of the Public Art Collection,

Core Concept 4: Engage Community Through Public Art

Please share your feedback. Are we on track? Which are most important to you? What’s missing?
