Art Selection Committee Application for Wall Murals

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the Art Selection Committee for this project, please fill out this Application Form (linked) by Tuesday, August 23. You will be notified via email shortly afterwards if you are selected to serve on the committee.

A few details about the Art Selection Committee and process:

• The City of Lakewood is partnering with 40 West Arts on the art selection process for this project. Liz Black, the Executive Director for 40 West, will be facilitating and managing the Art Selection Committee and Call for Art.
• The goal of the committee is to help select artwork for wall murals that will be painted on one or two buildings along Colfax Ave. between Simms St. and Carr St. The exact number of murals is dependent on interest from eligible property owners.
• We are looking for approximately seven members who either live or work in Ward 1 to serve on this volunteer committee.
• If selected, you will be asked to spend approximately 10 hours of personal time reviewing proposals and attending virtual meetings via Zoom this fall, tentatively during September and October.
